National Ground Support Company Requires Charge Hand Technician - Stansted
Charge Hand / Lead Hand Technician required for large National Ground Support Company.
Our client, a large national ground support company in the Stansted area is looking for a charge hand technician to join their busy and successful team. You will be required to lead technicians on the workshop floor as well as airside. You will assist the Operations Manager with the management and delegation of day to day operations, adhering and promoting safe working practices, and ensuring a high quality of customer service.
? To be 50% productive within the workshop conducting repairs and servicing as required.
? Oversee and liaise with the Operations Manager at all times regarding status updates, breakdowns, repairs and any new work that may be required
? Daily management of all mobile technicians, and management of airside response in line with customer SLA and TCR SR reporting system
? Allocate and monitor work done airside
? Monitor productivity of technicians to ensure they achieve the KPI of 87.5%
? Carry out and record quality checks as directed by the Operations Manager, reporting back any work that is not up to standard
? Carry out a quality standards check on all work involving major components, including, but not exhaustive to engine, gearbox, axles, clutch, brakes, and steering
? Assist, as required, with any investigations and follow up reports regarding vehicle and personal accidents to the required standard
? Check all Technicians are completing all paperwork correctly and ELC is updated to correctly reflect real time information. Make sure all paperwork, including timesheets are handed in by the end of each shift
? Deputise the Operations Manager as required
You will be leading a team of 5 - 10 staff and be both workshop based as well as mobile on airside. You will be looking after both fleet and plant machinery with vehicles of various sizes and design.
To be successful, you will need supervisory experience within an HGV Environment with operational vehicle and logistical background. You will need experience of working in a customer focused environment.
Having your qualification in PLG / LGV and Heavy Vehicles is essential for this role. LGV 2 is not essential but is desirable.
This position is located in the Stansted area and is a very popular role. Successful candidates will need to be a commutable distance to the area.
