On Thursday 18th May 2017 seven Automotive Recruitment Consultants from Perfect Placement are taking the gruelling trip to Portsmouth to take part in Jobsite’s annual 5 a side tournament. The event is taking place on behalf of the Charity The Ickle Pickles at the famous Fratton Park, home to English footballs 3rd tier champions for the 2016/2017 season. The Ickle Pickles turn all donations in to specialised equipment for premature babies such as Incubators and ventilators. A fantastic charity and a privilege to support them.
Having won a tournament only a few months ago, Perfect Placement All Stars are entering full of confidence and feel they’re in a position to compete to the end. The team has changed slightly, but the competitive attitude and determination to succeed remains the same.
The team consists of Liam Buffenbarger (GK) Declan McAvoy (Scotland) Liam Ludlow (North East) Aaron Hunter (Staffordshire & Shropshire) Jamie Clarkson (Yorkshire) Ollie Blackman (South Coast) and Conor Bassett from our Recruitment Support Team.
Whilst the team has a variety of pace, power, strength and technical ability… the key question is whether stamina can keep up with these to drive the team to lift the cup.
There are a few doubts in the team and something we all need to overcome. This is something the team are all aware of and Team Captain Jamie Clarkson will be attempting to change rapidly.
Firstly – Goalkeeper Liam Buffenbarger made the rash decision to take his daughter to the local trampoline park, only 48 hours before the big day. 10 minutes of throwing himself around like Fabian Barthez resulted in a twinged back and the ability of Massimo Taibi.
Secondly – Having not had the need to provide our own kit for previous tournaments, the decision was made that much like an interview, to succeed, you must look the part to feel it. For this reason Perfect Placements Directors invested in a brand new kit however several members of the team were looking in the funhouse mirrors when ordering their kits. Not mentioning specific names but to mention Dafydd (Little Britain) Razor Ruddock (after football) and the current Maradona would give you an idea of the results (photo below).
We would like to wish Perfect Placement Automotive Recruitment the best of luck and hope they can bring the Trophy back to Sunny Norfolk.
