As a Car Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the success of the sales department which will include increasing sales performance, profitability and efficiency. A successful Car Sales Manager will be capable of building excellent customer relationships across the Automotive industry as well as having strong leadership and people management skills.

Based in a Dealership, this role is fast paced and target driven. You will report into the General Manager and be expected to ensure the Sales Team provide the highest level of customer service at all times in order to attract and retain new business. You should have a high level of knowledge of FCA regulations and Sales Department policies and ensure yourself and your team of Car Sales Executives implement these at all times.

Since this role depends heavily on reaching sales targets and driving the department forward, employers generally look for someone with a proven track record of sales success, experience in managing a sales department and the ability to communicate with people at all levels. A Car Sales Manager should be self-motivated, enthusiastic and act as a mentor for their team. Most employers will also request a full UK Driving license in this role. This role could be a great opportunity for a Senior Car Sales Executive or Business Manager.

Typical working hours for this role are around 45 hours per week and some weekend working should be expected. As Car Sales Manager you will get the opportunity to achieve great bonuses based on sales performance. For this reason, base salaries tend to be lower but OTE can reach £50K and above. Most employers will also include a company car and ongoing training as part of the benefits package associated with this role.

In terms of promotion, this role provides a fantastic stepping stone for an ambitious individual to prove themselves. The right candidate can expect to have excellent career prospects right up to General Manager.
