As a Parts Sales Representative you be responsible for growing the business in the local area. This will be done by building and maintaining strong and lasting relationships with new and existing customers, servicing clients and engaging with customers and maximising all sales opportunities. This will be measured by reaching and exceeding sales targets as well as securing repeat business.
This role is typically based in a Main Dealership and you will report into the Parts Manager. Depending on the structure of the business, the Part Sales Representative could be selling parts to other trade businesses such as Bodyshops or local garages; they could sell directly to customers or a combination of both. A good Parts Sales Representative is someone who can work in a professional manner, answering any queries a customer may have and identifying the best solution for them.
Employers will be looking for an individual with previous sales experience, strong commercial awareness and understanding of the Motor Trade. Excellent negotiation skills, self-motivated and good literacy and numeracy skills are also key requirements of this position.
The role of Parts Sales Representative is very target driven and has lots of potential for growth and promotion for the right person. The natural next steps would be the role of Senior Parts Sales Executive, Parts Manager and upwards.
Typical working hours in this role can be up to 45 hours per week and this usually involves working weekends as and when required. As a Commercial Vehicle Sales Executive you will also get the opportunity to achieve great bonuses based on performance. For this reason, basic salaries tend to be lower but OTE can reach £40K and above. A company car is often included in the package for this role.
