As a Service Advisor you will be responsible for booking in vehicles for services over the phone, face to face or online. It is important that as a Service Advisor you obtain all the relevant information regarding any repairs or requirements and pass these on to the technicians. This role requires someone with excellent communication skills as you will be the link between the workshop and the customer. Ensuring that the customer has a smooth and successful experience is key.

Based in a Main Dealership, a Service Advisor will support the running of the Service Team by ensuring customers receive the highest standard of service and their needs are met.  You will guide the customer through the whole process from start to finish, ensuring they are kept up to date and aware of any work which has been done on their vehicle.

The role of Service Advisor is customer driven and has lots of potential for growth and promotion for the right person. The natural next steps would be the role of Sales Executive, right up to Service Manager.  Most employers would look to take on someone with experience of working in an Automotive Dealership and a full UK Driving license is also a common requirement.

Typical working hours in this role range between 35 - 40 hours per week and this can involve some weekend working to support the needs of the business. Salaries range between £20K-26K and most Dealerships will offer their Service Advisors the opportunity to earn a performance based bonus.
