Vehicle Technician and MOT Tester Needed for Preston Based Main Dealership 
  • Basic Salary: £30,300 + bonus (£38,000) 
  • Monday–Friday, with Saturdays on a rota - Friday, 8:30am–5pm. Alternate Saturdays 8:30–12:30pm

Responsibilities: As a Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester with our client's dealership, you will have the following responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles, ensuring the highest level of technical accuracy and quality.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, adhering to manufacturer guidelines, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
  • Utilise state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and software to identify and resolve complex vehicle issues effectively.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technology, particularly in the field of electric vehicles, and apply this knowledge in your work.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and timely completion of all repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Provide excellent customer service by clearly explaining vehicle diagnoses and repair options, answering questions, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised work environment.
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • Proven experience as an Automotive Technician, preferably with knowledge or experience in electric vehicle technology.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles.
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Solid knowledge of using diagnostic equipment and software.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
  • A positive and proactive approach to work, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to staying updated with the latest automotive technology, especially electric vehicles.
  • Relevant certifications would be advantageous, but are not essential.
