Commercial Workshop Controller Needed in Preston
  • Location: Preston
  • Salary: Circa £40,000
  • Working Hours: TBC depending on individual. Facility runs three shifts Mon-Sat. 
  • Workshop: Large Workshop with up to 10 Bays
Our client, a well-established Commercial Main Dealership, is seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in Commercial HGV technical work to step into a leadership role. The company is committed to creating a positive, collaborative work environment where staff development is a priority.

Workshop Controller Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of a busy workshop with up to 10 bays
  • Manage, mentor, and support a team of technicians
  • Ensure efficient scheduling and prioritisation of jobs
  • Maintain high standards of service delivery and quality control
  • Liaise with customers to provide updates and ensure satisfaction
  • Monitor workshop performance and implement improvements
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety and industry regulations
What We’re Looking For:
  • Previous experience in a Commercial HGV technical role
  • Relevant qualifications in HGV maintenance and repair
  • Proven experience in managing or overseeing a workshop
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility to work across different shifts (days, afternoons, and nights)
