HGV Technician required in Thurrock, Essex.

Are you passionate about heavy vehicles and looking to take your skills to the next level? We’re seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our growing team! Whether you're an experienced technician or looking to develop your expertise, we want you to help us keep our fleet running smoothly.

As a productive member of the team you will spend most of your time in the Workshop completing HGV MOT preparation, inspections, repairing, diagnosing, servicing and maintenance. Analysis and diagnostics of vehicles is also a critical part of this role to ensure we exceed our customers’ expectations.

What our client Offers:
  • Competitive Basic Salary ranging from £35,360 to £48,620 p.a. (depending on experience).
  • Bonus Opportunity available which is efficiency based.
  • Benefits include: 31 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays rising to 33 with time served, company contributory pension plan and free life assurance.
  • Hours: 42.5 hours per week
  • Week 1: Monday – Friday 6.00am – 3.00pm
  • Week 2: 2.00pm – 11.00pm + Saturday 6.00am – 1.00pm (paid as overtime at time+half)

Key Responsibilities of this HGV Technician role include:
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs, including diagnostics, servicing, and inspections.
  • Ensure all vehicles meet safety and quality standards.
  • Respond to breakdowns and repairs efficiently, minimizing downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out.
  • Work with other team members to ensure the highest standards of service.

What Our Client is Looking For:
  • Experience working on HGVs or similar large vehicles (with relevant qualifications).
  • A strong understanding of vehicle systems and repair processes.
  • A positive attitude, keen attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A full, clean driver’s license is a plus.
