Reporting to the General Manager and working as part of a friendly sales team, as a Used Van Sales Executive, you will primarily be required to sell used vans (our client also has a small number of cars, heavy goods vehicles and motorhomes) alongside finance, insurance, and various other associated products and services to reach and exceed sales targets. Roughly 70% of our client's customers purchase their vehicles over the phone, so the role will be predominantly selling via telephone/email. You will be required to keep customers informed of delivery progress on their vehicle and advise on any delays that may progress. You will be required to resolve any queries which may arise and collect payment from customers before releasing their vehicle. You must explain warranties, service arrangements, introduce the customer to the Aftersales Department where possible, demonstrate the features of the vehicle and offer any other support that may be required.
To be eligible, you will need to live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Swindon region and have a UK driving licence with minimal points. Our client has stressed that they require previous automotive vehicle sales experience. Any experience selling vans/commercial vehicles would be highly advantageous; however, it is non-essential. You must be highly motivated and able to build long-term relationships with customers, continue to exceed their expectations, and increase sales. Other key attributes would include being confident and comfortable with negotiating and influencing situations and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of our client's stock and processes.
