As a Heavy Goods Trailer Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy goods vehicle (HGV) trailers. Your role will ensure the fleet operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities of this Heavy Goods Trailer Technician include:
- Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGV trailers.
- Diagnose faults and perform necessary mechanical and electrical repairs using HALDEX, WABCO, and KNORR BREMSE systems.
- Accurately and efficiently complete all compliance documentation.
- Ensure all work meets Health & Safety and Regulatory requirements.
- Work efficiently as part of a team and independently.
- Adhere to health and safety policies at all times.
- Previous experience as a Trailer or HGV Technician or similar role i.e. Plant Technicians, Army Engineers, Mechanical Fitters etc.
- Knowledge of HGV trailer systems, including brakes, suspension, and electrics.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent) is essential.
- Ability to diagnose and repair faults efficiently.
- A proactive and reliable approach to work.
- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence beneficial but not essential).
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, with overtime opportunities available.
- Days are 45 hours 8.00am till 5:30pm.
- Salary Range: £38,000 to £44,000 per annum depending on experience.
- Overtime paid at time and a half, and double pay on Sundays which can be £5,000 to £10,000 additional on top of the basic p.a.
- 25 days of annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, giving you 33 days off.
