SMART Repairer Vacancy - Bedford Independent Garage
  • Salary: up to £40,000 Depending on Experience
  • Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm 
  • No weekends contracted
  • Specialist Independent Garage. 
Our client is a well respected Independent Garage based in Bedford, They are seeking an experienced SMART Repairer / Bodyshop Technician to join their well equipped bodyshop. They have a high quality spray booth, with modern paint-mixing equipment. 

This is a great opportunity to build upon a business that's already very successful. It's a one-man-band bodyshop. As such, you'll need to be confident in undergoing minor repairs to vehicle bodywork. This means it's a great opportunity to help grow the company and be a highly valued member of staff. 

This is not an insurance garage, and they are not an accident repair centre. You'll be completing minor dent work, scratch repair, bumper repair etc and so on, similar to a SMART Repair style of working. You will however need to know how to do some strip/fit such as being able to take doors off, minor panel repairs with filler work and so on. 

SMART Repairer responsibilities:
  • Preparing vehicles for painting.
  • Masking vehicles before painting.
  • Carrying out minor filler repairs.
  • Stripping/Fitting such as removing panels/doors. 
  • Performing additional tasks as needed.
  • Ensuring all work meets exceptional quality standards.
  • Keeping workspaces and tools organised and well-maintained.
  • Upholding high standards of housekeeping.
Requirements of a SMART Repairer:
  • Proven experience in a bodyshop environment as a SMART Repairer or Painter.
  • At least 2 years experience in car body repair / painting.
  • Good communication skills.
  • An eye for detail + precision. 
  • Ability to work independently.
