HGV Technician required in Hereford.
  • Starting salary up to £18 per hour pending experience plus bonus, overtime at various rates, and call-out work with fantastic financial benefits.

  • Split shift system of 7:00am-4:00pm and 3:00pm-11:00pm Mon to Fri with 1 in 2 Sat 7:00am-12:00pm.

Our client, a large commercial vehicle dealer group with 17 sites nationwide and operating for over 35 years, are currently looking to recruit a HGV Technician to join their Hereford dealership.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, as a HGV Technician your key objectives will include:
  • To complete all service work and defined maintenance work of the utmost quality and efficiency within our client's allocated time schedules.
  • Supply a professional performance in all aspects of work activities to make an essential contribution to the value and retention of customers.
  • Supporting colleagues in the workshop with any technical issues and innovations.
  • Ability to carry out comprehensive diagnosis and repairs of malfunctions.
  • To ensure that all company policies and procedures applicable to their area of responsibility are adhered to at all times.
  • Document the results of diagnosis/repairs/service/safety inspections.
In order to be eligible for this HGV Technician role, you will need to be qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or failing this hold strong long-serving time served experience within the role. You will need to be a committed individual and a good team player.

You must be able to produce a high quality of work in a busy workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. HGV Technicians with an active HGV driving licence would be highly advantageous however this is non-essential.

For your hard work as a HGV Technician, our client is offering:
  • Starting salary up to £18 per hour pending experience.
  • Overtime subject to availability paid at an enhanced rate of time and a half or double time depending on the time of day.
  • Access to dealer performance based quarterly bonus paying up to £2,000 per annum.
  • 1 in 3/4 call-out rota with £350 per shift and a £30 call out payment per call outside of shift hours plus standard hourly rate.
  • 31 days annual holiday allowance (including the bank holidays).
