We are seeking an HGV Technician to join our Client’s a Commercial Main Dealer in the Portsmouth area.

Our client is a family run, multi-site commercial garage with over 30 years of experience. Due to Expansion within the Service department seeking a Workshop Supervisor for their site following an added workload at the location and the expansion of the company.

They are well known for providing services across Portsmouth, Havant & Waterlooville, Hampshire and beyond! This is a hands on, exciting, busy and challenging role, requiring enthusiasm passion an energy for the ongoing success of the business.

This role would suit individuals with an experience within either HGV Mechanics or Commercial Vehicle Technicians preferably within a Commercial Vehicle Dealership setting, however non-franchised dealer, HGV Fleet companies and HGV Technicians from Independent Commercial Vehicle backgrounds are considered.

We’ve worked with this client for several years, and they have helped multiple employees push forward within their career.
 
Our client is offering the successful HGV Technician:
  • A Basic Salary of up to £51,340
  • Opportunity for Overtime
  • Friendly working atmosphere
  • Working Hours: 4 – Day Week: Tuesday – Friday 6:00PM – 06:00 AM – 30 Mins Break OR
  • 5 – Day Week Available: Monday to Friday, 9:00 PM to 6:30 AM
  • Continuous Manufacturer Training
  • 22 days Holiday, increasing with time served.
  • Overtime rate at time and a half
Duties of an HGV Technician with our Client
  • Carrying out vehicle repairs in accordance with manufacturer's procedures within standard times set.
  • Breakdown/roadside assistance and call out dutyVehicle inspection
  • General servicing
  • Fault diagnosis
  • Repair of vehicle defects
  • Road test vehicles
  • MOT preparation/presentation.
  • Breakdown/roadside assistance and call out duty required.
  • Completion of all required paperwork accurately
What our client expects of their HGV Technician
  • Be a qualified HGV Technician (City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three or equivalent).
  • Strong Organisational Skills
  • Experienced working on HGVs previously or an in-depth technical knowledge of Commercial Vehicles
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to work to instruction
  • Full UK Driving Licence – HGV licence is beneficial.
  • The ability to work efficiently as an individual but also as part of a small team.
  • Right to work within the UK.
