Night Shift HGV Technician required in Swindon.

Our client, a family-run automotive commercial vehicle dealer group with multiple centres across Southern England, are currently recruiting for Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Technicians to join their Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU) located at one of their client's in Swindon on a night shift.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager and working as part of a team, your key objectives will include:
  • To complete all service work and defined maintenance work of the utmost quality and efficiency within manufacturers time schedules.
  • Supply a professional performance in all aspects of work activities to make an essential contribution to the value and retention of customers.
  • Supporting colleagues in the workshop with any technical issues and innovations.
  • Ability to carry out comprehensive diagnosis and repairs of malfunctions.
  • To ensure that all company policies and procedures applicable to their area of responsibility are always adhered to.
  • Document the results of diagnosis/repairs/service/safety inspections.
To be eligible, you will be qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair with several years' experience beyond your qualification however our client has stressed that if you're an equally qualified Car/LCV Technician looking to make the move over to HGV then they are willing to offer the necessary training to convert over. Overall, you will need to be a committed individual and a good team player. You must be able to produce a high quality of work in a busy workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. Applicants with an active HGV driving licence would be highly advantageous however this is non-essential.

  • Shift patterns are Monday to Friday, 10.00pm to 7.30am including a ½ hour unpaid lunchbreak.
