Bodyshop Supervisor Position Overview: My client, a leading player in the automotive repair industry, is seeking a skilled Technician Supervisor to join their dynamic team. As a Technician Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of the workshop, supervising a team of technicians and maximising performance. This Bodyshop Supervisor / Technician Supervisor role is semi productive and you will be supervising roughly 30% of the shift time.
Key Details as a Bodyshop Supervisor /Technician Supervisor:
- Location: Leicestershire
- Up to £36,000 Basic Salary (dependent upon skill set/experience)
- Monday to Thursday 0800hrs to 1630hrs,
- Friday 08.00hrs to 15.30hrs
- No weekends
- Overtime available 1.5 rate

- Supervise a team of bodyshop technicians, ensuring efficient and high-quality workmanship.
- Provide technical and diagnostic assistance to technicians, facilitating quick fault diagnosis and accurate repair solutions.
- Manage job specifications, budgets, and customer expectations, ensuring adherence to agreed processes.
- Collaborate effectively with Business Development Manager, Body Shop Manager, and Paint Shop Supervisor to ensure valid job specifications and time budgets are in place.
- Implement effective problem-solving strategies, coaching, and development techniques to enhance team performance.
- Maintain workshop standards, including health and safety compliance and equipment maintenance.
- Oversee shift handovers, including outstanding repair orders and customer issues.
- Manage resource plans and anticipate resourcing issues, coordinating with the Body Shop Manager.
- productivity policies, and customer authorisation processes.
- Significant experience in the motor vehicle repair industry (commercial). Either as a coach-builder, painter, MET Technician or similar.
- City and Guilds, NVQ 3, or equivalent in Commercial Motor Vehicle Repair.
- Ability to manage, motivate, and coach a team of technicians effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with excellent questioning and listening abilities.
- Proficiency in GDS and Impact systems specific to the GVS process stages.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
- Familiarity with VOSA PSV/HGV Licence Laws and Regulations.
