HGV Workshop Controller Vacancy 
  • Position: HGV Workshop Controller
  • Location: Dunstable 
  • Basic Salary: Up to £45,000
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:30pm
  • Overtime Available 
My client is now looking to take a on a new workshop controller for their commercial vehicle maintenance unit. They deal with an excellent brand and therefore are in need of an experienced professional. HGV Workshop Controller Candidates must have automotive workshop experience and ideally have worked in the commercial sector as a Workshop Controller, Foreperson or HGV technician

The company invest heavily in their staff, you will play a key role in the development of workshop technicians and will simultaneously be developing your managerial experience. Workshop Controls is the first step a Technician can take towards a Workshop or Site Manager role. If you're looking to do this in the long-term, this role is ideal for you. 

Workshop Controller Responsibilities:
  • Plan, control, and deliver overall workshop performance.
  • Act as the interface between the workshop and the customer, enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Manage, lead, and organise the workshop team and resources.
  • Identify training needs for the workshop team in coordination with the line manager.
  • Ensure all company and manufacturer processes, standards, and legal obligations are met.
  • Participate in meetings to review pre-planned work, ensuring consistent workloads.
Requirements of a Workshop Controller:
  • Experience within the automotive industry, preferably HGV related.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing a team.
  • Strong customer contact and supplier management skills.
  • Technical knowledge from a relevant qualification or experience.
  • Understanding of compliance associated with Heavy Goods Vehicles.
