Our client, a well-established family-run independent garage, is actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy and supportive environment where your expertise will be valued.

As a Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of vehicles to a high standard. You will ensure all work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in line with industry standards. In addition to your technical duties, you will engage with colleagues and customers professionally, maintaining the garage’s reputation for excellent service.

Key Responsibilities as a Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester:
  • Conduct routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
  • Perform MOT tests in accordance with DVSA standards, ensuring all vehicles are safe and roadworthy.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues using advanced diagnostic equipment.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately, including service records and customer reports.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with the service team and customers, providing clear explanations and updates.
  • Continuously update your knowledge and skills to stay current with industry developments.
Requirements to be the successful Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester:
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician and MOT Tester is essential.
  • MOT License: A valid MOT Testing License is mandatory.
  • Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform a wide range of vehicle repairs.
  • Work Ethic: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines without compromising on quality.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to both colleagues and customers.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
