A leading Car Dealership in Croydon is on the lookout for a Workshop Controller to join their team. But this isn’t just any Controller role – this is for someone who’s still got the technical chops, loves getting their hands dirty, and can be a true mentor to the team.

What’s in it for you? We’re offering up to £45,000, but if you’re the right person, we’re happy to talk numbers. This is an opportunity for someone who still enjoys being active, working on cars, and making sure the team is delivering top-notch work. Here’s what you’ll be doing as a Workshop Controller / Senior Technician:
  • Technical Expertise: You’ll need to be a wizard with wrenches. We’re talking real experience, the kind where you can walk into the workshop, size up a problem, and solve it on the spot. You’ll be the go-to person for advice, sharing your knowledge with the team, and making sure no job is too big or too small.
  • Leadership by Example: You’ve got to earn the respect of the team, and the best way to do that is by being on the front lines. Whether it’s helping with tricky repairs or guiding the newer techs, you’ll be seen as the person who’s got the answers and the skills to back them up.
  • Problem Solving: This isn’t just about dishing out jobs; it’s about getting stuck in. From complex repairs to day-to-day problems, you’ll be there making sure everything’s running smoothly, and you’ll take pride in teaching others how to solve the tough stuff.
  • Old-School Foreperson Vibes: We’re after an old-school foreperson – someone who’s hands-on and still loves being in the workshop. You’ll be walking the floor, jumping in to help out, and making sure the quality of work is always top-notch. No sitting back and just managing!
  • Flexibility: We know life can be unpredictable, so we offer flexibility. You’ll only need to work 1 in 6 or 8 weekends, and that’s just for about 4 hours. And yes, we’re open to negotiating on that, too!
