Our client, a multi-manufacturer approved independent family run accident repair business based in Tunbridge Wells, is currently seeking an experienced Automotive Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA)/ Vehicle Estimator to join their team. You will be working within a state-of-the-art accident repair environment, approved by some of the biggest names such as Lamborghini, McLaren, Aston Martin & Bentley.

This is a key role for the business, assisting customers get their cars back on the road quickly, and ensuring that their vehicle is repaired to a high standard.

This is a customer facing role and with support from your team, will entail estimating on site as well as liaising with clients to arrange a suitable time to assess the vehicle at their homes/places of work.
Estimates will then need to be entered on the computer system of the insurers choice and liaising with the insurance engineers may be necessary.

Our client is open to applications for “trainee” VDA’s with experience within practical setting of the Accident repair network.

Duties of a Vehicle Damage Assessor/Estimator with our client:
  • Undertake the inspection of damaged vehicles.
  • Assessing the full extent of the damage, costs of repair and timeframes.
  • Identify the correct prescribed repair method and prepare, record, and maintain records of electronic and manual estimates.
  • You will then liaise effectively with insurance companies to obtain their authority to repair the vehicle at the costs estimated.
  • You will also effectively liaise with customer’s engineers and technicians to explain and ensure they understand the repair methodology.
  • Be able to produce work that complies with the highest technical and quality standards and, above all, helps deliver on their service commitment to customers.
What our client expects of their Vehicle Damage Assessor/Estimator:
  • Ideally you are qualified to NVQ level 3/City & Guilds or with a solid Bodyshop background – whether the job at hand is routine or more complex, you will know just how to solve it.  
  • You come from a fast-paced background – you know how to work in a standard job time structure with a focus on producing compliant, high-quality work. 
  • You can do more than one thing at once – you can be sure you will never be looking for something to do, so being able to prioritise and plan your work is key.
  • You will have a full UK/EU Driving Licence
