Improver MET Technician Wanted – Family-Run Crash Repair Centre, Croydon, Surrey Position
  • Location: Croydon, Surrey
  • Salary: £25,000 - £40,000 (Depending on experience and qualifications)
  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM (30-minute lunch break)
Our client is a family-owned crash repair centre based in Croydon, known for their high-quality work, attention to detail, and dedication to developing their team and truly believe their staff are the businesses biggest asset. Their friendly, professional environment values growth and excellence, making them a great place for an aspiring MET Technician to hone their skills. Our client is looking for a new team member who shares their passion for delivering an industry leaving automotive crash repair service. 

On behalf of our client we are currently seeking an Improver MET Technician or a main dealer technician looking to move into the crash repair industry. This position is perfect for someone who already understands the basics and wants to progress further in their career. Our client is also open to experienced apprentices who have a good grounding in MET work and are ready to take on more responsibility.

Duties Include of the Improver MET Technician Role:
  • Performing MET (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim) work, such as wheel alignment, ADAS calibrations, and stripping/rebuilding vehicle bodywork.
  • Supporting with vehicle diagnostics and understanding vehicle systems.
  • Ensuring all repairs meet a high standard and are completed to the customer’s satisfaction.
They're not currently in search of a fully-fledged MET Technician. Instead, they want someone with a solid foundation who’s eager to learn and grow within their team.

Salary & Benefits of The Improver MET Technician Role:
  • For an Improver MET Technician: £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)
  • For an experienced apprentice: £25,000 - £30,000
  • 20 days holiday + bank holidays

  • Private work allowed (as long as it’s approved by the bodyshop manager).
Who Our Client is Looking For:
  • Ideally, you’ve been working in a garage, crash repair centre, or main dealership.
  • You should have a basic understanding of diagnostics, strip/rebuild work, and wheel alignment.
  • Formal motor trade qualifications would be an advantage.
  • Comfortable with basic computer work and familiar with job card systems.
  • Full UK driving licence is a must.
