We are seeking an Automotive Assistant Service Manager to join our Client’s well-established Independent Garage in the Edenbridge area.

Our Client is a reputable independent garage, known for providing high-quality vehicle maintenance and repair services. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual looking to take the next step in their automotive career, working closely with the Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of the service department.

As an Automotive Assistant Service Manager, you will support the Service Manager in the smooth running of the workshop and customer service operations. You will be responsible for overseeing the service team, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of vehicle repairs and servicing. You will play a key role in ensuring that the service department operates efficiently and profitably.

The successful Automotive Assistant Service Manager will ideally have experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of automotive servicing and repair processes. You’ll need to be a strong leader, with the ability to manage a team, handle customer inquiries, and ensure a smooth workflow in a busy environment.

Duties of an Automotive Assistant Service Manager with our Client:
  • Assisting the Service Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the service department.
  • Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction by managing service appointments and vehicle repairs.
  • Liaising with customers to discuss vehicle issues, providing estimates, and keeping them updated throughout the service process.
  • Supporting and leading the service team, ensuring a smooth workflow and high-quality repairs.
  • Managing the scheduling of service bookings and overseeing workshop control.
  • Handling customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally and promptly.
  • Ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest safety and quality standards.
What our client expects of their Automotive Assistant Service Manager:
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the automotive industry is essential.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle servicing and repairs.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • A hands-on approach with a proactive and problem-solving attitude.
  • Full UK Driving Licence – Preferably Clean.
