In this role as an Improver or Junior Vehicle Technician, you'll be an integral part of our clients workshop team; learning, developing your mechanical skill set, expanding your knowledge and gaining additional qualification; you will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of vehicles to ensure they meet the highest standards of safety and performance. This position provides a strong foundation for growth, hands-on training, and advancement in a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities of a Vehicle Technician with our client:
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and inspections, including oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake adjustments.
- Learn from Senior Technicians, shadowing their work, and taking advantage of extensive training opportunities offered by the dealership.
- Support with complex repair tasks, building your skills through on-the-job learning.
- Carry out repair tasks efficiently, following manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
- Keep a clean and organised work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers, providing updates on repair progress and recommending maintenance as needed.
- Work can range between 40 to 45 hours per week over Monday - Sunday.
- Options for a four-day week or varied shifts, including weekends, are available.
- Family-friendly flexibility for candidates with young families; schedules can be adjusted to meet personal and family commitments! Enquire within.
- No night shifts; workshop hours are from 6 a.m. to midnight, 7 days a week.
- Basic automotive maintenance experience is ideal, but recent qualifications and a willingness to learn are welcomed.
- Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to quality.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be comfortable with tools and have a strong interest in automotive repair.
- Competitive salary between £30,000 - £41,000 based on experience.
