  • SALARY: Up to £42,000 per annum pending experience. 
  • HOURS: 40 hour week Monday to Friday.

Our client, a franchise-approved commercial vehicle dealer group with multiple sites nationwide, is looking to hire a fully qualified and experienced Plant Equipment/HGV Technician for their busy Westbury dealership.
 
Reporting to the Workshop Controller and working as part of a friendly team, as a Plant Equipment/HGV Technician your key objectives will include:
  • Performing major and minor repairs to plant equipment as well as heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles as required. 
  • Carrying out PDI works and attachment set up on plant equipment .
  • Mobile repair and maintenance of plant equipment. 
  • Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services according to machine hours and schedules.
  • Maintaining inventory in the service vehicle and cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
  • Working with other departments, including the sales team to ensure a quality and reliable service level is provided to customers. 
  • Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for to machines/vehicles.
  • Maintaining records of machines/vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims according to manufacturer requirements or escalating them to higher management.
  • Providing in-house training to recruits and trainees as required. 
  • Carrying out your role with quality, compliance and health and safety always at the forefront of what you do.
To be eligible you need to be qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in either Plant Equipment or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair and ideally hold at least 1 to 2 years practical experience post qualification. You will need to be a committed individual and a good team player. You must be able to produce high-quality work in a busy workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. Applicants will need to have a current, full UK driving license for the relevant vehicle and machinery classes.
