Classic Car Restoration Engineer based in Ramsgate, Kent – Specialist Role
  • Location: Ramsgate, Kent
  • Salary: Up to  £38,272 per year (Flexible Depending on Experience)
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, Full-time - Flexibility on hours
Are you a true engineer, someone who can diagnose and fix mechanical problems without relying on modern diagnostic tools? Do you have a passion for classic cars, particularly E-Type Jaguars and AC Cobras? If so, this could be your dream job.

Our client is a specialist in classic car restoration, handling everything from engine rebuilds and mechanical overhauls to bodywork and preservation. Unlike modern garages, this role isn’t about plugging in a computer and replacing parts—it requires a methodical, logical problem-solver who understands classic engineering.

Key Responsibilities as a Classic Car Mechanic:
  • Carry out high-level mechanical restorations, servicing, and diagnostics on classic cars.
  • Diagnose and repair engine faults, suspension, transmissions, and braking systems using traditional diagnostic methods.
  • Preserve originality where required by the customer, using authentic restoration techniques.
  • Work on E-Type Jaguars and other classic models, ensuring precision and authenticity.
  • Attend classic car events such as Goodwood and NEC, supporting customer engagement.
  • Maintain a clean, organised workshop environment, ensuring safety and quality standards.
Who We’re Looking For within a Classic Car Restorer:
  • A true engineer with experience in classic car restoration, mechanics, or engineering.
  • Someone with a methodical and logical approach to problem-solving.
  • A passion for classic cars and an appreciation for vintage engineering.
  • Ability to diagnose faults without relying on modern diagnostics.
  • Previous experience working with E-Type Jaguars, AC Cobras, or similar vehicles (preferred).
  • A valid UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
