PCV Technician Vacancy in Plymouth - Day and Night shifts available
  • Both Day and Night shift patterns a 39 hour week
  • 5 day week, Monday to Friday only - Basic £37.5k DOE 
  • 4 day week, Monday to Friday, 2 in 4 weekends - Basic £44.5k DOE
Are you looking to join a skilled and professional engineering team, maintaining and repairing a modern, diverse fleet? Our client are looking for a qualified mechanic or technician with an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) to join their Plymouth depot. Some of the key responsibilities of a PCV Technician:

  • Service, maintain, and repair a variety of commercial vehicles, including trucks, buses, and coaches.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
  • Provide frontline support to customers within your designated area.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork for warranty, contract, and retail work.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise customer costs.
  • Work as part of a small team to deliver outstanding service.
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular hours and assist with weekend call-out cover when required.
To become a PCV Technician with our client you would typically need the following:

  • Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle/PCV maintenance (City & Guilds or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of commercial vehicles.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in a dealership environment is highly desirable.
  • A full, valid UK driving licence is required (HGV or PCV licence is advantageous).
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional and customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
