Workshop Manager – Automotive Fleet Company
Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Some weekend availability required for trade shows and events.

About the Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Workshop Manager to join a well-established and growing automotive fleet company. This key leadership role is integral to maintaining the performance, reliability, and safety of a nationwide fleet. Our client is looking for an experienced individual with a background in the bus, coach, or heavy vehicle sector who thrives in a fast-paced aftersales environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee pre-delivery inspections, routine maintenance, and repairs to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and reliable.

  • Manage workshop operations, ensuring workload is effectively distributed between in-house Technicians and Mobile Field Engineers.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections in accordance with Accounting, Customer and DVSA requirements.

  • Ensure quality control standards are met for vehicle preparation and servicing.

  • Manage warranty claims and submissions, adhering to manufacturer guidelines.

  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Skills & Experience Required:
  • Experience in an aftersales or workshop management role within the automotive sector.

  • Strong knowledge of workshop systems, loading, performance, and productivity (experience with Pinnacle is advantageous but not essential).

  • Relevant qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair are an advantage.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritising time and resources effectively.

  • Full, clean UK driving licence (PSV licence desirable but not essential).

  • Ideal for experienced Workshop Controllers looking to progress into a management role.
