Are you a technically skilled CAD engineer looking to enhance productivity and efficiency in a well-established company? We are seeking a CAD Sales Engineer to join our team in the vehicle bodybuilding industry. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of custom vehicle bodies.
In this role, you'll create detailed CAD designs, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and generate parts and materials lists to support both the sales quoting and manufacturing processes.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities of the CAD Sales Engineer:
- Create detailed CAD designs for vehicle bodies to assist with sales quoting
- Develop parts and materials lists to improve the quoting process
- Structure Bill of Materials and build parent/child formats for production
- Manage parts in the ERP/MRP database
- Create engineering drawings and technical specifications to streamline manufacturing
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand design requirements
- Ensure all designs are compliant with industry regulations
- Work with production teams to ensure manufacturability and efficiency
- Contribute to product development and innovation for vehicle body designs
- Conduct design reviews, stress analysis, and material selection
- Maintain accurate design documentation and revision control
- Previous experience in CAD design
- Proficiency in relevant CAD software
- Strong understanding of fabrication, metalwork, and vehicle body structures
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements
- Ability to develop practical solutions for custom vehicle designs
- Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising with sales, production, suppliers, and clients
