Classic Car Mechanic Required – Independent Classic Car Specialist in Orpington, Kent / South East London
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (1 hour lunch)
  • Location: Orpington, Kent / South East London
  • Salary: £32,000 - £40,000 Basic DOE
Our client, a well-established independent Classic Car Specialist based in Orpington, is looking for a skilled Classic Car Mechanic to join their passionate and dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mechanic with a deep knowledge of classic vehicles, particularly air-cooled and water-cooled models, to work in a niche and rewarding sector of the automotive industry.

If you’re someone who takes pride in their craftsmanship, has a passion for preserving automotive history, and enjoys hands-on mechanical work, this role is perfect for you.

Key Responsibilities of the Classic Car Mechanic:
  • Installation of engines and gearboxes into classic vehicles
  • Confidently install replacement classic engines and gearboxes
  • Diagnose and resolve ancillary mechanical faults
  • Work across a wide range of classic makes and models, ensuring high standards of restoration and mechanical integrity
Requirements:
  • Proven experience working on classic vehicles, with strong knowledge of both air-cooled and water-cooled systems
  • Confident with engine and gearbox installations
  • Diagnostic skills for mechanical and ancillary systems
  • A methodical and detail-oriented approach to mechanical restoration
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Based in or able to commute to the Orpington area
