Bodyshop Preppers work in Accident Repair Centres, these are either attached to Main Dealerships or independently owned businesses. They can also be owned by Insurance companies. Working closely alongside Panel Beaters, MET Technicians, Paint Sprayers and Estimators, the job of a Bodyshop Prepper requires the highest attention to detail.
The hours of a Bodyshop Prepper vary depending on the environment you work within; however, they typically tend to be between 40-45hours per week with the opportunity for overtime at weekends.
Bodyshop Preppers can progress in their career; a lot of bodyshops require their technical staff to obtain their ATA (Automotive Technical Accreditation). Holding this will enable a Bodyshop Preppers to progress to a Technician role. From here, there is the chance to work as a Senior Technician right, or a Master Technician. Bodyshop Preppers can also extend their training and knowledge and work in the capacity of an Estimator, Paint Sprayer or Vehicle Damage Assessor.
