A Brand Manager in the Motor Trade focuses on developing and executing brand marketing programmes with a view to grow the business and its profitability.
Brand Managers, also known as Marketing Managers are typically based within a Main Dealership and will oversee the franchise. The desirable qualities of a Brand Manager include excellent communication skills, capable of delivering outstanding customer service, an eye for detail, managerial skills, and strategic thinker able to work to targets.
The role of a Brand Manager is pivotal to the success of the brand’s reputation. It is essential that the Brand Manager can build strong working relationships and act as the main point of contact between the brand and their retail network. A Brand Manager may be required to attend brand launches and other events where they will be both an advocate and expert on the brand they are representing.
Brand Managers hours reflect those of the Dealership, so typically they will work a 40hour week Monday to Friday but some weekend working may be expected to support the needs of the business.
There is also scope for promotion in this role, a succesful Brand Manager could become a Local Business Development Manager, Business Manager and eventually work their way up to Dealer Principal.
