The role of a Showroom Host in the Motor Trade involves interacting directly with customers, welcoming them on arrival and giving them the best experience of the brand, including restocking marketing material.
Showroom Hosts are based within a Main Dealership or a Commercial Dealership and act as a support for the wider team. They are expected to welcome customers and advise the correct member of the Sales Team of their arrival, offering refreshments and brochures as appropriate. A successful Showroom Host will be able to promote the brand and its products in a friendly and informative way.
The career path for a Showroom Host is wide open. Some will use their knowledge of the brand to work their way up to Sales Executive and then onto Senior Sales Executive and Sales Team Leader, others may prefer to work on the service side of the business and become a Service Advisor and onto a Service Manager.
A Showroom Hosts’ hours reflect those of the Dealership, so typically they will work 40hours per week which will generally include some weekend working.
