Vehicle Valetors are responsible for preparing vehicles before they are handed back to the customer. This could include used vehicles post service or once they have been sold and could also include new vehicles which have been sat in the showroom.
They can be found in Main Dealerships, Commercial Dealerships and also Motorcycle Dealerships.
The main duties attributed to the role of a Vehicle Valetor include cleaning vehicles; both washing and vacuuming, applying paint protection products accordingly, managing vehicle keys, and driving the vehicles to an allocated place on the forecourt.
This role is fast past and demanding but provides the opportunity to learn many skills which are transferable to other roles within the Automotive industry. For the right person, this role could be a great stepping stone in your Automotive career and could lead to Service Advisor or Sales Executive depending on your skills and ambitions. From here you could progress to a Senior Sales Executive or Senior Service Advisor and work your way to the top of your chosen department.
Typical working hours in this role can be up to 40 hours per week and some business will pay by the hour if a full time position is not required.
