As a Business Manager within the Automotive Industry you will work closely with the Sales Team and your key responsibilities will be to sell finance, insurance, warranties and additional products to customers. A high level of knowledge around products, finance options, insurance and other financial services offered by the dealership are all expected of a Business Manager.

Based in a Dealership, you will work with the Sales Manager in assisting the sales team with the sale of all finance-based products within the dealership, including quoting for finance and insurance products, managing customer enquiries and coaching the team to improve their processes. It is your responsibility to be an expert in these things for colleagues and customers alike, therefore you must be able to deliver exceptional customer service skills at all times.

Due to the nature of the job, employers will generally look for ambitious individuals who can demonstrate both an exceptional career history and sustained success in a similar role in the motor trade. This could include Sales Manager or Sales Controller and highly experienced and driven Senior Sales Executives may also be considered. It is essential that a Business Manager has a strong understanding of FCA regulations relating to motor trade finance and insurance sales.

Having such a hands on role in supervising and developing the Sales Team, it is essential that a Business Manager possesses strong management skills, a professional manner and is enthusiastic and proactive.

Typical working hours for this type of role are around 40 hours spread over 5 days per week. This may include working weekends depending on the needs of the business. As a Business Manager you will also get the opportunity to achieve great bonuses based on sales performance. For this reason, base salaries tend to be lower but OTE can reach £40K and above.
