- Salary: £42,340 Basic + £10k OTE based on 50% productivity
- Hours: 40 hours per week + 1 in 4 Saturday mornings on a rota basis
They are seeking an Experienced Diagnostic Technician with at least 3 years of commercial vehicle experience, preferably within a Main Dealer environment, though applicants from Service Centres or similar environments will also be considered. Within this Diagnostic Technician role, your day-to-day duties will include:
- Vehicle Diagnostics: Use advanced diagnostic tools and software to identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in vehicles.
- Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles, focusing on identifying root causes of problems and recommending effective solutions.
- Repairs and Maintenance: Provide high-level technical expertise in repairing systems such as engines, transmissions, electrical components, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
- Data Analysis: Review diagnostic data to recommend service or repair actions.
- Engine and Transmission Diagnostics: Perform specialised testing and diagnostics on engine and transmission systems, providing expert feedback on needed repairs or adjustments.
- Electrical System Diagnostics: Pinpoint and repair electrical system issues, including faults in wiring, sensors, and onboard computers.
- Component Testing: Test individual vehicle components, ensuring proper function and safety compliance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with vehicle technicians to resolve complex technical issues, providing advanced diagnostic support when needed.
- Customer Feedback: Use customer input in conjunction with diagnostic tools to efficiently locate faults.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of diagnostics, repairs, and services carried out on each vehicle.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all diagnostic, repair, and maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations.
