  • Starting salary of £23,500 per annum.
  • Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm; 37.5 hours per week.

Our client, a large multi-franchise car dealer group based across South Wales and South West England, is currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join their head office in Chepstow following a valued member of their team moving on to their well-deserved retirement.

Reporting to the Accounts Manager and working as part of a friendly team of four, in the role of an Accounts Assistant your responsibilities shall include:
  • Focus on purchase ledger whilst still completing other accounts roles. 
  • Managing company purchases and debts.
  • Process daily banking 
  • Assist in the preparation of files and returns for both internal and external auditors as required.
  • Prepare ad-hoc information for the Regional Accounting Team as required.
  • Post Vehicle & Customer payments & control of associated debtors.
  • Post bank statements and bank reconciliations.
  • Process supplier invoices
  • Reconcile supplier statements in preparation for payment runs
To be eligible our client is looking for a well-presented individual who has a positive work ethic and recent or current experience within a similar Accounts Assistant role or is currently undergoing relevant training/qualifications to become an Accounts Assistant.

The ideal Accounts Assistant will be enthusiastic, highly organised and a good team player, able to work to strict deadlines and pay attention to detail. They should be self-motivated with the ability to solve problems and be IT literate (ideally with Kerridge/CDK dealer management system experience but this is non-essential). Any previous experience in a similar automotive accounts role would be highly advantageous however is non-essential.
