Our client is a highly reputable Bodyshop in Guildford who are looking to add an experienced Workshop Controller to join their in-house Bodyshop team.

They are seeking to recruit a knowledgeable and driven Bodyshop Workshop Controller / Manager who will take responsibility for overseeing a busy team including Paint Sprayers, Panel Beaters, and other Bodyshop professionals – managing a team of 12+ staff.

The core objective of this role is to coordinate and oversee all Bodyshop operations, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality workmanship, and exceptional customer satisfaction at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily job allocation and workflow within the Bodyshop, keeping track of job statuses and conducting daily progress meetings.
  • Drive productivity and profitability across the department, ensuring targets are consistently met.
  • Maintain high standards of quality control in line with company procedures and applicable industry standards (e.g., ISO 9002).
  • Ensure accurate completion of job cards and maintain discipline and efficiency across the shop floor.
  • Conduct final inspections and sign off on completed work before vehicles are returned to customers.
Experience & Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a Bodyshop Controller or Management role is essential.
  • Experience within a Main Dealer Bodyshop environment is desirable but not essential – applicants from independent or insurance-based accident repair centres are also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive, hands-on approach to workshop management.
