My client is a well known and established Independent Service Centre based in Bedford. They're now looking for a new technician to join their workshop team of highly qualified technicians. 

They've been active in the automotive trade for the past 40 years and have constantly developed their business to be where they're at today. All qualified technicians with workshop experience will be taken into consideration, however an NVQ level 3 will mean you're in the top band of pay, assuming you are able to work on a variety of franchises, completing full service and maintenance repairs. MOT license ideal, but not required. 

This Vehicle Technician role is ideal for dealership technicians who are looking to transition into a smaller but equally reputable company where your work will be valued and respected. You also get the benefit of working a Monday-Friday, no weekends are worked, however if you want to work weekends, Saturday overtime is occasionally available. You'll report directly to the owner of the company, meaning no long wait times for your requests to be completed. The owner is an ex-mechanic himself, with a great understanding of the automotive industry and a genuine care for his employees. 

Vehicle Technician Responsibilities: 
  • Carrying out fault diagnosis, service, and repair in line with manufacturer standards.
  • Full vehicle service and repair on a variety of vehicles including mainly cars, but also occasional vans. 
  • Ensure faults are accurately diagnosed and recorded as required on vehicle condition, safety, reliability and performance.
  • MOT's if you have your MOT License. 
The ideal Technician candidate:
  • NVQ Level 3 qualified Service/Maintenance Technician
  • 3+ Years within a workshop.
  • Time Served Technicians without qualifications CAN apply. 
  • MOT Testers highly sought after but not necessary to apply. 
  • Have your own tools.
