- Salary: £42,340 Basic + Bonuses, with £60,000 OTE
- Hours: 40 hours per week + 1 in 4 Saturday mornings on a rota basis
They are seeking an Experienced Vehicle Technician with at least 3 years of commercial vehicle experience, preferably within a Main Dealer, but they are also open to candidates from Service Centres or similar environments. Day-to-day duties as a Vehicle Technician will include:
- Vehicle Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of light commercial vehicles to identify mechanical, electrical, or technical issues. Diagnose problems using visual inspection, computer diagnostics, and customer feedback.
- Routine Maintenance: Perform tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections. Check and replace fluids, filters, and other consumables.
- Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Engine Work: Overhaul or repair engines, including internal components such as pistons, cylinders, and valves. Conduct engine performance testing and adjustments.
- Transmission and Drivetrain Repairs: Repair or replace transmissions, clutches, and differentials. Ensure proper functioning of drivetrain components.
- Electrical System Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair wiring, lighting, and electronic components. Install and repair vehicle accessories and aftermarket parts.
- Brake System Maintenance: Inspect, repair, and replace brake components like pads, rotors, and calipers.
- Suspension and Steering Work: Inspect and repair suspension and steering components.
- HVAC System Maintenance: Service and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
- Follow Health & Safety Regulations: Ensure all activities comply with safety and environmental regulations.
