Hours: 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday with Saturdays on a 1 in 4 Rota basis paid at overtime
We are currently working with a well-established Motor Trade Car Dealership who have been operating in the London area for since the 1980's. This client has an excellent reputation and operate with over 5 different vehicle brands.
They are seeking an Experienced Vehicle Technician who has at least 2 years experience within a Main Dealership, or similar environment, to join and support the work of their Workshop Department. Within this Car Technician role your day to day duties will include:
- Vehicle Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of light commercial vehicles to identify any mechanical, electrical, or technical issues. Diagnose problems through visual inspection, computer diagnostics, and customer feedback.
- Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections, to ensure the proper functioning of the vehicle. Check and replace fluids, filters, and other consumables.
- Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in light commercial vehicles. Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
- Engine Work: Overhaul or repair engines, including internal components like pistons, cylinders, and valves. Conduct engine performance testing and adjustments.
- Transmission and Drivetrain Repairs: Repair or replace transmissions, clutches, and differentials. Ensure proper functioning of the drivetrain components.
- Electrical System Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and onboard electronic components. Install and repair vehicle accessories and aftermarket components.
- Brake System Maintenance: Inspect, repair, and replace brake components, including pads, rotors, and calipers. Ensure proper brake system functionality.
- Suspension and Steering System Work: Inspect and repair suspension components, including shocks, struts, and springs. Diagnose and address steering-related issues.
- HVAC System Maintenance: Service and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in vehicles.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed on each vehicle. Document the parts used, labor hours, and services provided.
- Follow Health & Safety Regulations: Ensure that all repairs and maintenance activities comply with safety and environmental regulations.
