Vehicle Technician / Garage Mechanic - Forest Hill, South London
  • Pay: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE
  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5:30pm, plus Saturday mornings on a rota basis

Our client, a respected family-run car service centre in Forest Hill, South London, is seeking a Vehicle Technician / Garage Mechanic to join their welcoming and highly skilled workshop team. If you’re a proactive, “can-do” individual who enjoys working in a friendly environment, this could be your perfect fit!

The role includes a standard Monday-Friday schedule with Saturdays on a rotational basis. Flexibility in shift patterns may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities as a Vehicle Technician:
  • Perform vehicle servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance with a commitment to high-quality standards.
  • Handle general diagnostics, clutches, timing belts/chains, and MOT tests in line with DVSA standards.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Assist with ad hoc tasks in the workshop as required.
Essential Skills & Requirements as a Vehicle Technician:
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Proficient in modern diagnostics and electronics.
  • Ability to perform skilled work involving vehicle inspection, maintenance, and repair.
  • Preferably qualified for Department of Transport (MOT) testing.
  • Own tools and the ability to work self-sufficiently in a busy workshop environment.
