This is a hands-on and varied position where you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of the workshop, fleet, and technician teams.
Key responsibilities in This Workshop Manager include:
- Technician Scheduling: Managing and planning technicians’ daily schedules, ensuring they are effectively deployed to client sites for installations or service visits.
- Fleet Coordination: Overseeing the flow of work, ensuring sufficient Auto Electricians and Vehicle Installers are available to meet job demands.
- Quotations & Client Accounts: Preparing and managing quotes for existing clients and assisting with the development of new business through networking and customer engagement.
- Team Supervision: Leading a busy admin department, ensuring smooth operations and communication across the team.
- Workshop Management: Organising and maintaining workshop equipment and ensuring parts are readily available for scheduled jobs.
- System Updates: Updating and managing the booking diary to reflect technician schedules, workshop activities, and client appointments.
- Staff Management: Overseeing technicians’ holidays, hours worked, and locations to ensure optimal coverage and compliance with schedules.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy workshop and fleet of technicians.
- Experience in team leadership and supervising administrative operations.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with technicians, clients, and internal teams.
- A proactive, problem-solving attitude with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the automotive, fleet management, or related sectors would be highly advantageous.
