Our client, a large and expanding group of Vehicle Service Centres, is looking for an experienced, preferably ex-Technician, to take on the role of Garage Branch Manager at their busy and successful car garage in Welling, Kent. This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving business with a strong customer base, including fleet companies and retail clients.

The Role As Garage Branch Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of the garage, ensuring its smooth operation and profitability.

Key responsibilities as a Garage Manager include:
  • Front-of-House Operations: Engaging with customers, pricing jobs accurately, and ensuring high levels of service.
  • Staff Management: Overseeing technicians, delegating tasks, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Key Holder Responsibilities: Opening and closing the garage, ensuring site security.
  • Job Pricing and Profitability: Maximising revenue through accurate and competitive pricing while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Warranty Management: Handling warranty claims efficiently and in line with manufacturer or client guidelines.
  • Administration and Credits: Managing invoicing, credits, and reporting through systems such as Sage, 1link, VMS, and Autodata.
  • Driving Performance: Meeting and exceeding monthly targets (currently set at £20k), with significant bonus potential for exceeding goals.
What We’re Looking For In The ideal Garage Manager candidate:
  • Technical Experience: A background as a technician or tester is highly desirable to accurately assess and price jobs, and provide technical insights to both customers and technicians.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage a team, motivate staff, and maintain a positive workplace culture.
  • Customer Service Focus: Strong interpersonal skills to engage with customers and build lasting relationships.
  • DMS Proficiency: Familiarity with Sage, 1link, VMS, and Autodata systems.
  • A Passion for Cars: A genuine interest in the automotive industry and a commitment to maintaining high service standards.
