  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 14:00 – 22:00
We are seeking a dedicated HGV Technician to join our Client’s Commercial Vehicle Workshop in Southampton.

Our client is an independent business with over 20 years of experience specialising in heavy goods vehicles and trailers. They pride themselves on delivering top-quality service with a focus on professionalism and attention to detail.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out maintenance and repairs on a range of HGVs, ensuring vehicles meet safety and performance standards while minimising downtime for their customers.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician looking for a stable and rewarding role in a supportive workshop environment.

Our client is offering the successful HGV Technician:
  • Competitive Hourly Rate: £21.00 per hour
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 14:00 – 22:00
  • 21 days of annual leave (pro rata) plus bank holidays
  • Opportunity to work in a well-maintained, fully equipped workshop
Duties of an HGV Technician with our Client:
  • Perform major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and other vehicles
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance, including tyre rotation and oil changes
  • Diagnose and plan repairs alongside the workshop team
  • Provide roadside repair services in emergencies
  • Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records
  • Adhere to DVSA standards and safety protocols
What our client expects of their HGV Technician:
  • Be a qualified HGV Technician (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or IMI Qualification in HGV Repair and Maintenance)
  • Proven experience in vehicle servicing and diagnostics
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently
  • A full UK driving licence for relevant vehicle classes
