QHSE and Technical Compliance Manager Needed in Manchester
  • Location: Trafford Park, Manchester - Occasional travel required.
  • Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum DOE
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced QHSE and Technical Compliance Manager to join a leading company in the vehicle bodybuilding industry. This critical role ensures that operations meet the highest standards of Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental (QHSE), and Technical Compliance, supporting both regulatory requirements and best practices in vehicle bodybuilding and conversions.

Key Responsibilities of the QHSE and Technical Compliance Manager:
  • Oversee QHSE policies, procedures, and compliance across all operations
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) and lead initiatives for continuous improvement
  • Ensure vehicle bodybuilding and modifications meet Type Approval (IVA, VCA, DVSA) and industry regulations
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to maintain workplace safety and environmental compliance
  • Develop and implement quality management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
  • Lead investigations into non-conformance, incidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective and preventative actions are taken
  • Manage Body Builder programmes across various dealerships
  • Monitor and control COSHH, PUWER, and LOLER requirements
  • Ensure adequate build documentation and technical specifications are available
  • Provide technical guidance on vehicle construction standards, materials, and regulatory compliance
  • Deliver QHSE training programs and foster a strong safety culture
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and suppliers to maintain compliance and certifications
What We’re Looking for in a QHSE and Technical Compliance Manager:
  • Proven experience in a QHSE and compliance role within vehicle bodybuilding, automotive, or engineering industries
  • Strong understanding of Type Approval, IVA, VCA, and industry standards
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar Health & Safety certification (knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 is highly desirable)
  • Understanding of fabrication, welding, and vehicle construction processes
  • Strong leadership skills to implement compliance improvements and inspire a safety-first culture
  • Excellent problem-solving and risk management skills
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with regulatory bodies, suppliers, and internal teams
