Service Technician / MOT Tester Needed in Stockport, Cheshire
  • Working Hours: 42 hours per week, Monday to Friday (08:30am to 6pm), plus 1 in 3 Saturdays (8:30am - 12:30pm)
  • Salary: Up to £40,600 OTE (Basic salary between £30,000 to £32,000, plus uncapped bonus of £6,600 and an additional £2,000 for EV qualification!)
Our client, a leading motor vehicle retailer, is seeking a qualified Service Technician and MOT Tester to join their state-of-the-art workshop in Stockport. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced technicians in a modern environment while receiving continuous support and career progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities for a Service Technician / MOT Tester:
  • Carry out vehicle health checks using the latest technology
  • Perform vehicle servicing in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and customer requests
  • Conduct additional repairs as authorised by the customer
  • Perform warranty repairs per manufacturer guidelines, ensuring relevant write-up is complete
  • Take vehicles out on road tests to ensure faults are rectified
  • Complete all necessary paperwork to a high standard
  • Conduct MOT tests in line with Ministry of Transport guidelines
What We’re Looking For in a Service Technician / MOT Tester:
    • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
    • Motor industry experience (brand or non-brand)
    • Full and valid UK driving licence
    • Willingness to work towards achieving an MOT test certificate (if not already qualified)
    • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and keen to learn and develop
    • Ability to work to and maintain the highest standards in vehicle servicing and repairs
