HGV Vehicle Management Unit (VMU) Coordinator in Cardiff.

Our client, one of the UK’s top bakeries', is currently looking to hire a VMU Coordinator to oversee the maintenance of their fleet of vehicles operating from their Cardiff centre.

Reporting to the VMU Manager and working as part of a team, your responsibilities shall include:
  • Drive the achievement of shift KPIs by effectively organising team members for the delivery of their tasks
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Prioritise shift workloads to maximise resource efficiency
  • Adapt flexibly to perform additional shift coordination and Technician duties when required
  • Facilitate seamless communication across shifts 
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained to meet Company and DVSA standards.
  • Coordinate with the Transport and Logistics departments to optimise vehicle availability.
  • Effectively manage the use of established sub-contractors.
  • Take ownership of personal development by identifying training needs and participating in a culture of continuous learning
  • Contribute to the promotion and sharing of "Best Practice" within Vehicle Maintenance.
To be eligible you shall be able to demonstrate experience of communication skills and working in a customer service environment as well as a working knowledge of the automotive industry. Any experience in the fleet side of the industry would be highly beneficial but is non-essential. Overall you will have strong relationship management and administration, organisational and time management skills, be IT literate, demonstrate the ability to work on your initiative and as part of a team, and have a good geographical knowledge of Cardiff and the surrounding region.
