Vehicle Technician / Garage Mechanic Required for Family Run Service Centre in South Guildford.

We are currently seeking to recruit a fully qualified Vehicle Mechanic to join our client’s busy Automotive Workshop Guildford. The position is based on Monday - Friday Only; 8.00 – 5.30pm and MOT license would be a distinct advantage but not essential. As an experienced individual, you will be skilled in all aspects of vehicle repairs and servicing, and have a good understanding of diagnostics and electronics. ttitude, reliability and being a team player is the most important things for our client.   

Key Responsibilities for a Vehicle Technician or MOT Tester with our client: 
  • Carry out servicing, repairs, diagnostics and maintenance of company and private vehicles as scheduled or required with due regard to quality procedures.
  • Carry out MOT Tests to include: receive vehicle from customer; test vehicle according to Department of Transport specification; complete all paperwork as required.
  • Comply with health, safety and environmental legislation and policies
  • Carry out breakdown repairs, as required, either within or outside normal working hours
  • Test Driving vehicles 
  • Assist with other duties as required
  Essential Skills for the successful Vehicle Technician:
  • Must be qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Experienced in carrying out all classes of skilled work involving inspection and maintenance
  • Experienced with modern diagnostic equipment and vehicle technology
  • Preferably qualified to carry out Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties
  • Have own tools 
  • Computer literate
You will ideally live within the South Guildford area be able to travel to the South Guildford area and be qualified to City and Guilds or NVQ 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or above.
